Helping People in Hardship or Crisis

Pete’s Helping Hand in Action:

  • Single mom with 12 year old boy battling non hodgkin's lymphoma unable to work during intensive chemo treatments

  • Father seriously injured at work unable to provide food / rent for his family of 5

  • Single mom working 70 hrs/ wk at Taco Bell with autistic child and infant dealing with kitchen fire damage, no insurance and behind on rent

  • Homeless mother with 6 year old daughter living out of car

How Pete’s Helping Hand Works:

  • When HDHM identifies a potential client (individual / family) in crisis, Chris and Pete schedule a meet and greet to better understand the situation. If HDHM is in a position to help, they take action usually in the form of an email fundraiser explaining the situation and requesting support.

  • Donations are managed by the HDHM bookkeeper who ultimately writes a check for the client that Chris and Pete deliver for another “Feel Good Day”.

  • Chris sends a recap email to the HDHM community with photos / videos so they better understand the good graces of their generosity.
