What is Handy Helpers

Handy Helpers is HDHM’s network of trusted, mission‑aligned professionals who serve our families with skill, integrity, and compassion. Each helper is vetted, values‑driven, and committed to supporting our community through excellent work and generous partnership. When you choose a Handy Helper, you’re choosing someone who cares about both your home and our mission.

If you ever have a concern about the quality of work or your experience with a Handy Helper, you can reach out to HDHM and we will work with you and the helper to resolve the issue. If the matter cannot be resolved that helper will be removed from our recommended list and replaced.

How Handy Helpers Works

Step 1 — Browse & Contact Your Helper Directly

Explore our directory of trusted, skilled professionals and choose the right fit for your project. Each profile includes a photo, specialty, and direct contact information so you can reach out by phone, email, or website on your own terms.

Step 2 — Mention You’re from HDHM to Support At‑Risk Youth

When you contact your Handy Helper, simply let them know you’re part of the HDHM community. This helps your Helper recognize the referral and make a charitable donation from the job to fund our Handy Futures trade scholarships and apprenticeships for at‑risk youth, including foster children and students from single‑parent, low‑income homes. Your home project becomes an investment in a young person’s future.

Meet Our First Handy Futures Scholarship Recipient

Randy] is the first student to receive a Handy Futures trade scholarship through the generosity of our Handy Helpers network.
